It’s another sad day in the hip-hop community.
Popular Baltimore rapper, Tyriece Travon Watson, better known by his stage name Lor Scoota, was shot and killed in Baltimore over the weekend after leaving a “pray for peace” basketball charity event at Morgan State University.
Police say the 23-year-old anti-violence activist was driving his car after the charity event, when an unknown black male wearing a white bandana stepped onto the intersection and shot multiple times at the car, as reported by The Baltimore Sun. The young rapper was then taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Although there have been no motives or suspects identified, it’s clear that the shooter had his eye on Watson. Officials are asking for those who have any information to come forward and help with the investigation.
“A lot of young people knew him and looked up to him, and whatever he might’ve been doing in the past, it appears he was doing some things to change his life and use those experiences to help empower other young people in our city,” police spokesman T.J. Smith told The Sun.

More information is still in development, as the search for the suspect lingers. Rest in peace, Lor Scoota.
