Lorde has some beef with Kanye West and Kid Cudi. The pop singer recently accused the Kids See Ghosts artists of stealing her stage designs after witnessing their performance at the 2018 Camp Flog Gnaw festival on Sunday (Nov. 11).
Kanye and Cudi’s set reportedly utilized interpretative dancers and performed inside a gigantic, glass box. The staged apparently levitated and shifted angles.
Lorde, who called the duo out on social media on Monday (Nov. 12), claimed their stage design was very similar to the one she used during her last tour. She also shared photos on her Instagram Stories, comparing her set design from Coachella 2017 and Ye and Cudder’s. Both appeared to levitate and move.
“I’m proud of the work that I do and it’s flattering when other artists feel inspired by it, to the extent that they choose to try it on themselves,” she wrote. “But don’t steal — not from women or anyone else — not in 2018 or ever.”
This wouldn’t be the first time Kanye has used a floating stage structure however. The rapper previously used a similar stage during his Saint Pablo Tour in 2016. Nevertheless, there are definitely some similarities between the two. Neither Kanye nor Kid Cudi have responded to Lorde as of yet.
