If you travel back to 2010, you’ll remember a public strain between Ludacris and Drake that stemmed over a lyrical pattern. In an interview with AllHipHop, Drizzy said he didn’t appreciate the fact that other rappers began to usurp a flow the Toronto native credited to Big Sean and seemingly used Luda’s “My Chick Bad” verse as an example.
“I hate that rappers picked that flow up. I wish they had left that for people that know how to use it,” Drake said. “[They go like] It’s a parade! MACYS!” The rappers then engaged in subliminal references on wax but privately buried the rift a few years ago.
Earlier this month, memories of their spat resurfaced when Drake accepted the award for Top 200 Billboard Album at the Billboard Music Awards (May 21). The More Life artist acknowledged Luda (co-host for the annual ceremony), and said, “…we haven’t always seen eye to eye, but I’ve always been a big fan of yours and I got a lot of love for you. I want to let you know that face to face while I’m still here.”

In an interview with the New York Daily News, Luda shared his straight-to-the-point thoughts on the moment. “Yeah, everything is good…We had a conversation before he even did that,” he said. Maybe a new collaboration from the pair might be a possibility?
