It looks like Lupe Fiasco’s fans will have to wait another 365 before the arrival of The Cool 2. Serving as the follow-up to his sophomore album which dropped in 2007, the Chi-town native revealed on Twitter that he might debut its second installment in winter 2017.
“‘The Cool’ celebrates its 8th birthday today,” the “Paris, Tokyo” rapper wrote. “The Cool is dead….long live The Cool 2. Winter 2017.” He later asked fans what’s their favorite melodies off the ’07 project, which features the hit singles “Superstar” and “Hip-Hop Saved My Life.”

The Cool received four Grammy nominations after its release. For this year’s ceremony, however, Fiasco was snubbed by the organization which didn’t nominate his fifth studio album Tetsuo & Youth. Released at the top of 2015, the soundscape highlighted the social climate in his hometown of the Windy City. It also debuted at the number 14 spot on the Billboard 200.
