In the wake of Mac Miller‘s unexpected death on Friday (Sept. 7), his DUI case for a hit-and-run incident back in May will be dropped.
The “Self Care” musician was expected to appear in court on Tuesday (Sept. 11) for arraignment. The case opened after Miller admitted to cops that he drove drunk and fled the scene after crashing his car into a power pole in California’s San Fernando Valley. TMZ reports that Miller was removed from the docket and official paperwork to remove the case have been filed.
Miller and his two passengers were not seriously injured in the crash, but the Swimming rapper blew two times over the legal alcohol limit and was later arrested. His bail was set at $15,000.
Miller was found dead from an apparent drug overdose around noon on Friday. He was just 26 years old. Musicians such as Chance The Rapper, Wiz Khalifa, J. Cole, Childish Gambino and more sent their condolences and fond memories of the Pittsburgh MC.
“I need y’all to put your cell phones in the sky right now for my ni**a Mac Miller,” said Cole during the Las Vegas stop on his KOD tour. “We’re going to do this whole song for him, this whole show is for him.”
