It was reported last week that the man who allegedly sold rapper Mac Miller a lethal supply of drugs was arrested in connection to his death. Cameron James Pettit is reportedly facing up to 20 years in prison for supplying the Swimming MC with products containing fentanyl, a deadly opioid.
Miller’s father, Mark McCormick, is commenting on the news that his son’s dealer was arrested. To celebrate the Pittsburgh native’s life, friends, family and fans gathered at Blue Slide Park to commemorate the Grammy-nominee.
“So they finally caught the motherf**ker that sold him the drugs that killed him,” Mr. McCormick said to the crowd. “And we find some comfort in that. Many of us who were young, including me, experiment with drugs. But it’s a different f**king world out there. All it takes is a little tiny stone of Fentanyl and cocaine and you’re dead.”
He went on to discuss the dangers of abusing drugs, stating that “it’s just not worth it” to experiment with certain drugs, due to the risk of Fentanyl being laced in them.
Mac Miller was found dead of an accidental overdose in September 2018 at the age of 26. Toxicology reports determined that his death was caused by a combination of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol.
