Macklemore just dropped some big news on Twitter today (Jan. 2). The Seattle native revealed that he’s prepping a new album set for release this year. In a response to a fan’s plea for updated music from the 31-year-old rapper, he put the Twitter user at ease with answering their wish for a set of brand new tunes.
RT @loucereal: Its 2015 and I still don’t have a new @macklemore album wtf <- you will this year. Believe that

The sophomore project will serve as the follow-up to his Ryan Lewis-assisted debut The Heist, which won Best Rap Album at 2014’s Grammy Awards. Since that prestigious recognition, Macklemore has spoken out on the subject of cultural appropriation in the genre, most notably his interview on Hot 97 in December.
