Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are prepping their follow-up project to their massive 2012 album, The Heist. While fans await their sophomore project, the duo drops off the album’s first single, “Growing Up,” with crooner Ed Sheeran.

On the heartfelt record, Macklemore offers some important life lessons to his daughter, Sloane Ave Sinone, who was born back in May. Throughout the feel good track, Mack promises to be the best dad that he can be. He also suggests to his daughter what books to read–The Alchemist, Langston Hughes, A Raisin In The Sun–albums to listen to and most importantly, he tells her to follow her heart when chasing dreams.

With Sheeran’s strong vocals, “Growing Up” makes for a touching track that you can take in and apply the lessons in your everyday life.
