MADA is on a winning streak with a string of groovy and emotional melodies released this year. But before 2016 comes to a close, the singer premiered another sultry tune to get you in the mood for cuffing season.
The “Without U Baby” artist serenades her unidentified lover with a steamy tryst that rises as the song progresses. In an email statement sent to VIBE, MADA shared how the song was created from just an organic studio session.
“Last November I was introduced to songwriter Jazmyn Boodram by my producer, Thaddeus Dixon. We were in the studio vibing to some chords Thaddeus was playing,” she said. “It was mid-November and chilly outside, and Jazmyn and I were in the ‘cuffin’ season’ mood, [laughs]. We were sitting on the couch Indian style with the lights off, candles lit and the red wine was flowing … before we knew it ‘Lights Off’ was written. I can’t believe that was a year ago!”
The singer-songwriter also shared that “Lights Off” is the perfect addition to your “bedroom playlist or played while riding around with the windows down just vibing out. It’s a sexy, yet super chill record, and I want people to feel sexy listening to it.”
