Marvel is back with its third installment of its hip-hop variant covers. The comic franchise recently unveiled the newest editions, drawing inspirations from Missy Elliott, Dr. Dre, Nas and others.
In one of the variant covers, Spider-Man channels Nas’ 2012 Life Is Good album. While the poses are similar, Spider-Man’s title reads, “Renew Your Vows,” which is a reference to his relationship with Mary Jane Watson. In the second variant cover, Black Panther visits Dr. Dre’s 2015 Compton album. Additionally, Riri Williams from Invincible Iron Man channels Missy Elliott’s 2002 project Under Construction. Iron Fist tackles EPMD’s Back In Business; and Venom brings Prodigy and Alchemist’s 2013 project Albert Einstein back to life.
The latest installment follows other covers inspired by A$AP Rocky, Chance the Rapper, De La Soul, LL Cool J, and more. Check out the newest editions to the Variant series below.
