In the wee hours of Saturday, Sept. 8, rumors swirled that Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans got into a squabble during a party hosted by Diddy in the Hamptons. There were no videos of the incident, nor were there any official reports about what started the issue, and that’s likely because the fight didn’t really happen.
Blige dispelled the rumors on Monday (Sept. 10) while being interviewed on the red carpet during the Dennis Basso show at New York Fashion Week.
“Of course that was made up. I was shooting a movie in Louisiana . . . I just got here today,” she told Page Six. Additionally, a representative for Evans said that the story was completely false.
“I have no idea how this rumor started,” they said. “Puffy didn’t even have a party.”
The fabled fight between the musical giants came on the heels of a highly-publicized Fashion Week altercation between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. During the latter incident, Cardi B reportedly threw a shoe at Minaj and her entourage, alleging that Minaj ‘favorited’ hurtful comments about her parenting skills.
“…when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are f**kin off!!” Cardi wrote on Instagram.
