It was announced yesterday that Chris Darden, the prosecutor from the OJ Simpson trial, will be representing Eric Holder, the alleged killer of Nipsey Hussle. Social media took the mind-boggling news and ran with it entirely, leaving many to wonder what Darden was thinking.
Meek Mill, who was reportedly brainstorming ideas for a joint project with Hussle, commented on the news via Twitter.
“As self hate continues in the black community #housen***a,” the Championships MC tweeted under a screengrab of the news about Holder’s new attorney. He also added in a separate tweet “We at war with the system and the streets!!! #forevernip.”
Holder was captured by police on Tuesday (Apr. 2), after he attempted to reportedly check himself into a mental institution. His bail is set at $7 million, and he reportedly plead not guilty to all of the charges. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
It was reported that Hussle was killed for confronting Holder about rumors of him being a snitch. The rapper’s reported friend detailed the exchange in a phone call.
‘”Don’t come around with that… not that nobody was gonna harm him for being a snitch,'” he said. “[That was] Nipsey on some solid sh*t, and the n***a couldn’t handle that in his heart. He came back in and touched this young brother, man.”
