Meek Mill is reportedly readying the fifth installment in his Dreamchasers mixtape series. The “Amen” rapper announced the musical blessing on Instagram (Jan. 26), revealing that he’s back in the studio to work on the project and release it “immediately.”
Three years ago, the Philadelphia native released Dreamchasers 4 (2016), a 14-track project that featured spots from Tory Lanez, Nicki Minaj, Quavo, Pusha T, and the late Lil Snupe. The soundscape also hosted the third edition of Meek’s vivid “Tony Story” which was produced by longtime collaborator Jahlil Beats (who also crafted the first bit).
Prior to DC4‘s promotion, Meek and Drake were at odds. While the dust has settled on the rappers’ rift — leading to a collaboration on Meek’s Championships album (“Going Bad”) — the “What’s Free” MC said the aforementioned mixtape served as him turning the other cheek to doubters.
“This mixtape right here is my re-introduction back for the people who doubted me but my inspiration was for the people who tried to bury me,” he said in an interview with My Mixtapez. “At one point I was looking at the Internet world looking like they were trying to bury me.” Now, given all that has transpired since that time, we’re sure Meek is sitting on a mountain of content that he didn’t get to share on Championships.
