According to reports, Megan Thee Stallion’s Friday (Aug. 9) video shoot for the upcoming ‘Hot Girl Summer’ visual was allegedly shut down.
Per TMZ, the LAPD closed down the shoot in Los Angeles after they received a call. It was discovered that the team was lacking the proper paperwork to film in that particular area of the city, Mount Olympus. After they were told to pack up their things, Hot Girl Meg and her crew were able to improvise. They reportedly locked down a new location to film– Chino Hills, which is about 50 miles east of Los Angeles.
The single “Hot Girl Summer” features Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. It was released on Aug. 9, and features a sample of City Girls‘ “Act Up.” The Texas MC reportedly filed to trademark the term “Hot Girl Summer”back in July.
“‘Hot Girl Summer’ has been used the world over (most recently in cringe-inducing fashion) by brands such as Forever 21, Wendy’s and Maybelline,” we wrote. “According to the report, if the phrase is approved, the trademark will cover the saying on merch such as hoodies, T-shirts and sportswear.”
