Mick Jenkins, who made our list of rappers to watch in 2016, seems to be proving our theory right that he’s one to be wrecking with.
We’re only a week into 2016, and the Chi-Town native is already hard at work on his next studio album. To get the ball rolling, the “Get Up Get Down” rapper rolled out two new songs for us to think to with — “Grenade Theory” and $3,000 Advice.”
On “Grenade Theory” Jenkins drops food for thought about traveling through this cruel world, yet staying focused on the end goal. While “$3,000 Advice” is more intimate, and finds the rapper dropping his clever references and metaphors of water.
THEMpeople handle production duties on both tracks.
