Earlier this year, one of Chicago’s most promising MCs, Mick Jenkins, released his clever and mature project, Wave[s], adding more prestige to his budding career.
One of the songs from the release that has given his career more buzz is the wordplay-laden, “P’s & Q’s,”
Thanks to the folks over at Noisey, the budding spitter takes time to respond to Youtube comments about “P’s & Q’s” in The Peole Vs Mick Jenkins.
For over five minutes, the Chi-Town native discusses ILoveMakonnen, who fans says Jenkins look like, people missing that every word in “P’s $ Q’s” begin with the letter P, and he clarifies the statement he made about TDE’s Isaiah Rashad not impressing him.
“What I actually said is that Isaiah Rashad’s music didn’t impress me. I don’t feel like that’s a diss,” Jenkins said.
He continues: “Impressing someone is very different from just alone liking their music. I know everybody has had it but your friends will come tell you: ‘Yo, this is amazing, it’s the next best thing, it’s crazy,’ and that’s what everybody was telling me. So often we fall below the hype, and that’s what I meant by that.”
