The group made the announcement on Wednesday evening (April 19), confirming that the project sold a million units in the United States. Due to the success of the singles “Bad & Bougee” and “T-Shirt,” Quavo, Offset and Takeoff scored their first No. 1 album in February, selling 131,000 equivalent album units in the first week.
Their platinum status also welcomed congrats from their peers, including the likes of Gucci Mane and DJ Khaled.
Offset also made sure to celebrate the occasion with a few stacks.
Speaking with Billboard earlier this year, the group shared that they weren’t connected to critical acclaim after they were snubbed at the Grammys. “We’ll be there next year,” Quavo said. “Then Kanye going to come on down because they finally acknowledged [young black artists].”
