Miguel has reemerged with a full version of his track “Coffee.” Updated with an assist from Wale and now titled “Coffee (F***ing),” the previously two-minutes-too-short offering may now satisfy your fix as the two reiterate their musical chemistry. Steering into a sexier space with their second collaboration since the Grammy-nominated “Lotus Flower Bomb,” Miguel and Wale up the ante with an ode to morning sex over a libido-inducing electric guitar.
While details remain slim surrounding Miguel’s long-awaited third studio album, the single release signals its arrival may be sooner than fans thought. Tentatively titled Wild Heart, the upcoming project was prefaced with the release of three songs back in December, “NWA,” “Hollywood Dreams” and an earlier version of “Coffee.” Mark Pitts, president of urban music at RCA, detailed the direction Miguel’s next album will take.
“He’s more confident, and it’s going to show in the music, his look and in the videos. Miguel is ready to push the button,” Pitts said. “His first album was about trials and tribulations. The second was OK, we’re here; I wasn’t bugging. And now it’s here we go. He wants people to understand who he is. He’s tired of people asking who are you, what’s that, do you like girls?”
