While Miguel continues to rock the festival circuit; tearing down the stage at Governor’s Ball and at Bonaroo Music and Art Festival, the Wildheart singer-songwriter and producer still has time to gift his fans with new tunes. Thursday night (June 23) his producer in crime, Salaam Remi released a new track perfect for those cloudy days in the crib.
Miguel paints a vivid picture on “Come Through and Chill.” After just landing, the cumulous clouds and rain isn’t ideal weather for frolicking about town. However, unwilling to reschedule plans with a love interest, the LA native begs her to throw some sweats on and come over, only for her to hopefully take them off for a night of passionate love making.
Miguel’s gone three for three. His debut record All I Want Is You, spawned the inescapable hit “Sure Thing.” He avoided the sophomore jinx with 2012’s Kaleidoscope Dream and breathed new life back into rhythm and blues with “Adorn” along with other album cuts such as “How Many Drinks?” “Do You” and “Use Me.” Miguel remained consistent with Wildheart and gave fans a glorious hybrid of rock and R&B.
No word if this is just a one-off for Miguel, or if he’s back in the studio crafting some more music for grown folks to conceive children to, either way, we dig what we’re hearing. Spin Miguel’s “Come Through And Chill” below.
