Like most Americans, rap-pop crooner Mike Posner is trying to make sense of the senseless slaying of 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. last Friday (Dec. 14.) Posner looked to his music and penned a new song titled “Heaven.”
“To the victim’s families,” Posner wrote. “I hope this song will help just a tiny, tiny bit to ease the pain of your loss. Maybe this will make sense in heaven.”
Posner, who’s next album Sky High is due in 2013, elaborated further on Twitter. “I wanted to do SOMETHING for the victims’ families,” he wrote. “I wrote this song because I didn’t know what else to do. Today makes no sense…God has blessed me with this gift and it felt wrong not to share it. I hope this song finds its way to proper ears.”
