In collaboration with composer Ludwig Göransson and music supervisors Fam Rothstein and Jen Malone, the trap producer is set to enter a new realm and executively produce the soundtrack for the upcoming American sports drama starring Michael B. Jordan.
“I’ve always been a fan of Mike WiLL’s production,” Jordan told Variety. “I knew we were in store for something crazy and refreshing when we brought him in to curate the Creed II soundtrack.”
With the support of the cast, Mike Will is extremely hyped about the project and promises something to remember.
“It’s important to show the new generation that soundtracks can be just as exciting as traditional albums if put in the hands of the right curator,” he said. “After people hear the music, I want them to say movie soundtracks are back.”
Furthering discussion of the matter on his Instagram account, he went as far as to ask fans what they wanted to hear.
“WONT DELIVER ANYTHING BUT A CLASSIC” he wrote on the social media platform. “WHO DO YALL WANT TO HEAR ON THE SOUNDTRACK??”
Whether or not the “Black Beatles” producer will take fan suggestions into consideration, in the age of TDE, Black Panther and hip-hop’s bleeding influence, Mike Will is bound to curate a soundtrack that knocks.
