As a result of Missy Elliott’s guest appearance with Katy Perry at the Super Bowl’s halftime show on Sunday (Feb. 1), the Virginia native has received an overflow of love and recognition from old and new fans. That newfound support has further rewarded Misdemeanor’s greatness with a resurgence of her hits charting on iTunes and now a 2,500 percent increase in her album sales, Forbes reports. The innovative emcee expressed her gratitude on Twitter earlier this week, and also revealed that before she hit the stage in front of millions of onlookers she “went in praying” given her heightened nerves.
Seeing my songs in the top 10 & albums bk on the charts makes me so humbled! Thank y’all shows that real music is TIMELESS
