The police department for the Ascension Parish in Louisiana conducts check-in with its registered sex offenders at least four times a year, one of whom includes Mystikal. Ahead of Halloween, news cameras rode along with officials as they gave reminders to sex offenders to not participate in the festivities by interacting with children or dressing up in costume. Local network WBRZ was allowed inside of the rapper’s home, where he openly discussed his sex offender status. “I have the same fears that most parents have,” Mystikal said. “I don’t have no offense against young kids or nothing like that – which don’t make my offense no better – but still, protect your kids, man. Our kids are the most important thing that we have.” SEE ALSO: Celeb Costumes That Slayed Halloween 2014 Back in 2004, Mystikal was convicted of sexual battery, which landed him in jail for six years. He is now a “lifetime sex offender,” which includes these routine compliance check-ins. But you won’t catch the rapper complaining about any of it. “I don’t do the whole pity party thing,” he told the news cameras. “I have to participate in sex offender groups and stuff like that, twice a month. It don’t stop your life man, it don’t stop your life.” Watch Mystikal’s routine check-in above.
