NAO didn’t waste any time with the follow-up to her 2018 single “Another Lifetime” with another replay-worthy melody. The British singer debuted “Make It Out Alive” on Tuesday (Aug. 28), which features another captivating singer, SiR.
“Make It Out Alive really sums up what my album is about,” NAO said in a statement via Vents Magazine. “I’d hit my late twenties and everything was in flux; relationships, work life, home situation, everything. I was lost and I genuinely had to ask ‘how do you make it out of the here?’ “
On the subject of a collaboration with the TDE signee, the “Get To Know Ya” singer said she’s been waiting patiently to record on the same track as SiR, a track with lyrics that’ll resonate with any listener.
“The idea of making it a duet was to reflect how many people, all over the world, are going through the same experience. I’d been a huge fan of SiR’s voice and songwriting for a while so I was over the moon when he agreed to join me on the track.”
