In 2003, rap star Nelly launched his first clothing brand geared toward women called Apple Bottoms. The fashion company produced jeans, perfume, and other apparel that later influenced lyrics from Flo Rida’s “Low” to Eminem’s “Shake That.” Now, Nelly is reportedly planning to revive the outlet.
On Instagram, the “Country Grammar” rapper posted an image of a logo and wrote, “It’s bout that time…!!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t call it a come back..!!!!!” Per Complex, in 2015, Nelly also shared a throwback photo of him posing with a woman wearing the jeans, and noted that the lost files might one day be made public. “I still have some out takes of this one I can’t even show YALL I was a wildboy back in these days the photoshoot was fun by the after parties was way better…lets just say I was the fixer back then also.”
Fashions of the early aughts have been a point of conversation since Kimora Lee Simmons relaunched her Baby Phat imprint. The brand once produced jewelry, bags, jeans, coats, perfumes and more.
