January has been a month chuck full of new releases, with artists ready to prove they can get down just as hard as they did last year. Included in this slew of fresh material is Flux Pavilion’s forthcoming “Blow the Roof” EP set for release January 28. Mixing old school and new school, the EP is a musical trip full of unexpected surprises, where one minute you’re nodding your head to 80’s style hip-hop rhymes, and the next you’re thrashing that same head to the sounds of warped bass.
Another pleasant surprise on the EP is an appearance by comedian/actor Donald Glover who encompasses his rap alter ego Childish Gambino to lay down some sick rap lyrics on the track “Do or Die,” putting it in the number one spot on Hype Machine.
