From LMFAO to Swedish House Mafia, it appears everyone in the music industry is taking a break from their bandmates and going solo. This includes Queens-based MC Heems (born Himanshu Suri), who originally was a one-third of hip-hop group Das Racist. Heems recently released his second solo album, Wild Water Kingdom. Heems is no stranger to going solo after experiencing success from his solo debut in January, Nehru Jackets, which was produced entirely by his Stuyvesant High School friend, Mike Finito. While keeping with the off-kilter production and real hip-hop swag adored in past Das Racist jams, Heems’ Wild Water Kingdom still keeps things fresh by teaming up with an array of hot producers on the new mixtape, including Harry Fraud, Keyboard Kid, Beautiful Lou and more.
