Fifteen years after the release of his eyebrow-raising single, 50 Cent is still teaching hip-hop how to rob. The heists may have switched up from stealing rappers’ shine to jackin’ for beats, but that doesn’t make the stickups any less smooth.
Today’s prized production: Jeremih and YG’s DJ Mustard-produced hit “Don’t Tell ‘Em,” a bubbling summer anthem contender that’s sure to get more love now that the mighty G-Unit has hijacked the melody and chorus.
The whole crew is in tow: Fiddy, Banks, Yayo, Kidd Kidd and the always-energetic Young Buck, who’s quietly been the horsepower propelling this epic reunion. Along with “Nah I’m Talkin’ ‘Bout” and “Real Quick,” “Don’t Tell ‘Em” will likely appear on the upcoming G-Unit mixtape 50’s been plugging lately.
This isn’t the first time 50 Cent has hopped on Jeremih’s wave. Back in 2010 Fif’ jumped on the remix to “Down On Me,” which he famously performed along with viral star Keenan Cahill on Chelsea Lately (see below). —John Kennedy
