ratch·et? ?[rach-it] noun
1. a toothed bar with which a pawl engages.
Or, according to the Urban Dictionary:
2. a diva, mostly from urban cities and ghettos, that has reason to believe she is every mans eye candy. Unfortunately, she’s wrong.
LL Cool J tackles the second definition of “ratchet” on his new track of the same name. Released as a free download via Uncle L’s website, LLCoolJMusic.com, “Ratchet” marks some of the first new music from the NCIS: Los Angeles star since 2008’s Exit 13. (LL did release the one-off nod to his TV series, “N.C.I.S (No Crew Is Superior),” in 2009.)
On his new single, the man known as Mr. Ladies Love Cool James goes back to his trademark topic, however instead of praising the ladies for their big ole butts or rapping about “Luvin U Better,” LL turns on his female companions, knocking all the gold diggers out there after his cash and “a little money for gas.”
While he continues to battle crime weekly on TV, a new album for the “Mama Said Knock You Out” rapper is rumored to be in the works.
