Rap star YG may have the street heat for the fellas, but his 4Hunnid record label artist, named Mitch, has the love for the ladies and he proves it with the new single, “Like This.”
Mitch, who emerged with his debut effort in 2018 titled Space, offered the R&B audience 14 tracks of music from his heart which focused on the internal fight between his love and his career. This time around the inspiration of a rocky relationship with his lady produced “Like This.”
“I wrote the record about a girl I was dealing with at the time. We had recently broke up, and it inspired me to write [the song],” he recalls. “I used it as an outlet to let her know she would never find another love like this.”
What Mitch found, however, is the perfect person to play his low-key love interest and feature singer, who also has an angelic voice, in Ann Marie. Who has a following of her own as well. “I was on tour with DaniLeigh in Chicago last year and my homegirl put me on to Ann Marie. I thought she was talented and had a real genuine appeal about her. And thought she was the perfect fit for the female perspective,” Mitch explains. “We shot the video a few weeks ago in L.A., it was our actual first time meeting, the energy on set was amazing.”
With his new full length release on the way titled, Better For You, the video storyline for “Like This,” directed by Brilliant Garcia, holds down the fans for more to come.
