Every now and then, a MC comes along that just has raw, natural talent. The latest to come across our radar is Nick Grant. But more importantly, he has the die-hard work ethic to go along with God’s gift of rhymeslinging.
With major salutes from the likes of Sway, Rob Markman, Peter Rosenberg and us over here at VIBE, budding South Carolina spitter Nick Grant has released his debut mixtape ’88.
Laced with intriguing wordplay (“Something to Say” and “I Want The World”), mature content (“Royalty,” and “Gold Chains”) and potential radio singles — without selling out his core fans (“Just In Case”), Nick Grant is reminiscent of a young Nasty Nas, or a current J.Cole.
And with hip-hop vet Jason Geter (Grand Hustle) steering the ship of his young bull, Grant, the rapper without a doubt, has the potential to be among the greats in these hip-hop streets.
