Nick Grant taps deeper into his southern roots, and takes it back to the Jim Crow-era juke joints, and church-under-the-tent revival in his new mini-film, “Get Up/The Sing Along,” featuring WatchTheDuck and Ricco Barrino.
Directed by Bryan Barber, a suave Grant has an eventful evening as he walks through a juke joint, rocks the stage, and leaves with the prettiest woman in the building. But before leaving, Grant has to knock out her jealous love interest.
In the second half of the film, Grant finds himself within a tented church service. With the preacher spewing biblical wisdom, and the congregation agreeing, the South Carolina native takes in the scene while spitting a thought-provoking verse about some of your favorite rappers falling off, and the myriad of analogous hits hogging blogs and radio stations.
Back in October, Grant released his project, A Seat At the Table (Plus One). Also, be on the lookout for the January release of his project, The Return of the Cool.
