Nicki Minaj is making major changes to her joint tour with Future. The rapper has reportedly scrapped the entire North American leg of her NickiHndrxx Tour, meaning Future will no longer co-headline the U.S. trek. Minaj’s team has reportedly decided to “reevaluate elements of its production,” according to a statement issued on Tuesday (Aug. 21).
The NickiHndrxx Tour was originally slated to kick off on Sept. 21, in Baltimore, Maryland, making stops in major cities including New York City, Miami, and Los Angeles, before concluding in Las Vegas in Nov. 2018. Minaj still intends to headline the new 28-city schedule, which will now commence in May 2019.
“Nicki has decided to contribute more time to rehearsal ahead of the tour’s launch to make certain her fans get the absolute best quality show that they deserve,” the statement reads. The release also attributes the change to “scheduling conflicts” with Future’s camp.

Nicki hopped on Twitter on Aug. 21, to explain the tough decision. “Because of that, with Future’s schedule, I may have to take another co-headliner or I may just do it like I did the Pinkprint Tour and it wouldn’t be, like, a co-headline,” she said. I probably will just have three or four opening acts. I still am going to do Australia in January.”
According to the rapper, the European leg of her tour will remain the same. “Future and I will now start the European leg of our tour first, so those dates will stay exactly the same and the U.S. leg of the tour will now start in May,” she continued. The European leg of Nicki’s trek will reportedly begin on Feb. 21 in Munich, Germany. It will stop in the U.K. and Switzerland and run through Mar. 2019.
Minaj previously revealed that Tekashi 6ix9ine would appear as an opener on the tour. He is expected to still open for the North American tour, although he was not specifically mentioned in the press release.
Refunds will reportedly be granted to ticket-holders for the previously-set North American dates, according to Live Nation.
The NickiHndrxx Tour was initially announced in support of Minaj’s recently released album, Queen, which dropped on Aug. 10. The rapper’s fourth studio album reportedly debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, with 185,000 equivalent album units in its first week. After learning of the final charting results, Minaj expressed her frustrations with the music industry as well as Travis Scott (his album Astroworld beat Minaj to land the No. 1 spot for a second week in a row).
