Gucci Mane’s has reunited with Nicki Minaj, proving their musical chemistry is stronger than ever on the rapper’s latest single, “Make Love.” Dropping early Friday (Feb. 24), Gucci boats about his mindfulness and flashy belongings while Nicki gets personal by unleashing a few disses towards her enemies.
Gucci has been on a mission after coming out of jail and changing up his lifestyle. Dropping hit after hit from his project, East Atlanta Santa, it’s safe to say he’s focusing on good music. In January, the rapper announced his 11th album, Droptop Wop with “Make Love” starring as the lead single. Nicki and Gucci’s musical partnership goes back to their early mixtape days when the two collaborated on house party gems like “Freaky Girl (Remix),” “Slumber Party” and “Haterade.” The two came to a head after Gucci’s infamous Twitter rant before his incarceration in 2013.
Now that bygones are bygones, we’re treated to a batch of punchlines by the duo. “Oh you the qu-e-e-the queen of this here?/One platinum plaque, album flopped, b***h, where?,” Nicki raps, hinting towards an alleged beef with Remy Ma. Shortly after Remy released her guest verse to Phresher’s “Wait A Minute (Remix),” the Grammy-nominated artist shook off the rumors on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. “If you look at the history of Remy Ma, whenever I’ve had a problem with any female in the entire game, I will say your name,” she said. “I am going to say your government. I’m going to look it up and say your mother’s name, your father’s name, your kids’ name. I want you to know I’m talking about you.”
There is no release date on Gucci’s project yet, but if the project is anything like this single, we can expect some heat and unexpected collaborations from both artists.
