After much speculation, Nicki Minaj popped onto Instagram to share the status of Tekashi 6ix9ine‘s forthcoming album, Dummy Boy.
Though the album was originally set to be released on Friday, Nov. 23, it appears Tekashi’s legal troubles may have gotten in the way of his plan.
“For reasons beyond music, the record company will hold off on putting his project out for now,” she revealed in the caption. “Danny, I love you and am praying for you, your Mother, daughter & her Mom during this time.”
This is not the first time Minaj has stuck by Tekashi’s side. When Minaj received backlash for collaborating with the controversial rapper on “FEFE,” the rapstress addressed the issue on QUEEN Radio, stating that she genuinely liked the song’s vibe.
“The reason [‘FEFE’] drew my interest was not because 6ix9ine was popular, it’s because it reminded me of ‘Slumber Party’ by Gucci Mane,” she explained. “Shout out to my baby Tekashi. I love him,” she added.
Tekashi 6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, was arrested and taken into custody this past Monday (Nov. 19) for chargest und there Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.
Hernandez currently awaits his bail hearing from the general population in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. According to court documents, Hernandez could reportedly face life in prison.
