Nipsey Hussle is quite the businessman. And it looks like he’s just getting started. Last month, the L.A. born and bred rapper dropped his latest effort Mailbox Money, for a whopping $1,000 a piece. And the “Checc Me Out” rapper has already sold 60 hard copies.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Nipsey professed how surprised he is with the outcome of his innovative business venture.
“As much as I believe in it. Every time I get a transaction, I get a text on my phone, and I’ve been hitting them back. The feedback and the connection I have with these people help me understand the psychology of the person paying $1,000 for some songs that, realistically, you could download for free,” he said. “It surprises me.”
The mixtape, forms a part of Nipsey’s #Proud2Pay campaign, which helps his ride-or-die fans set themselves apart from the rest of the pack. Seems to be working in his favor.
