After decades apart, Offset and his father are finally reunited. The Migos rapper shared a heartwarming video on Instagram Friday (April 26) capturing the tear-jerking moment that he saw his estranged father for the first time in 23 years.
“Dreams do come true,” he captioned the video. “Haven’t seen my father in 23 years and I still love him. That past is the past and the present is all we have to rely on, we not perfect.. love you pops!! No matter what!!!!”
The reunion comes nearly two months to the day since Offset told The Breakfast Club that he hadn’t seen his father in person since he was 4 years old.
Father and son have spoken a few times throughout Offset’s life, the last time being in 2016. During The Breakfast Club interview, Offset admitted that as a child he assumed that his father didn’t like him. The Atlanta native, whose birth name is Kiari Cephus, also said that he would be more than happy to reconnect with his dad and it looks like his dream finally came true.
