
With the hype around Netflix’s “The Get Down” running wild throughout the Internet, it’s dope to hear today’s artists embracing the roots of hip-hop. Ohio lyricists G. Huff of Youngstown and Cleveland’s Vice Souletric sound off about their past and present struggles of dealing with something we all deal with monthly: Bills. Both MC’s tell their own stories about what they had to do pay off their debt in their new song.

The legendary Pete Rock comes through with classic production influenced by music from the early 70’s which reflect the core of their struggles. Huff and Vice take turns rapping over the vintage horns and upbeat bass line as they rhyme to get their bills paid on time. The song comes as the follow up to his most recent album Royalty For a Lifetime, which features N.O.R.E, Ransom and Vice Souletric.
