Alternative hip-hop group Oxymorrons began as a collaboration between K.I. and Deee, brothers who grew up in Queens. After years of putting in work on the rock/hip-hop scene, Oxymorrons come through with this soothing, yet raucous-sounding record dubbed, “Green Vision.”
Produced by The Hustle Standard, Oxymorrons go dumb over hard guitars strings, and drums while unleashing vocals that cover a range of topics such as pain, rage and police violence.
Via e-mail the Oxys state: “‘Green Vision’ is the culmination of all the things that make us who we are. Musically it’s Hip-Hop, Punk, Rock, Ska, Metal and Electronic all rolled to in one. Lyrically it touches on our mental instabilities and insecurities, while having the mental fortitude needed to chase our dreams. It’s about finding that balance within yourself – that kind of foresight is what we call ‘Green Vision’.”
Earlier this year, the Oxy crew released their unapologetic record, “Brunch,” where they rap about living on their own terms.
Fans can catch Oxymorrons on the ‘Rap is the New Rock Tour.’ The remaining cities include Baltimore (Sept. 8), Bay City, MI. (Sept. 28), Milwaukee, WI. (Oct. 23), among many other dates.
