The Food Network & Cooking Channel New York City Wine & Food Festival (NYCWFF) is just a week away and will offer plenty of foodies inspiration with over 500 chefs, culinary personalities, entertainers and wine and spirit producers, showcasing the best entrees and delicacies from around the world.
Now in its ninth year, the program has brought back favorites like Patti LaBelle, Whoopi Goldberg, the cast of Chopped and celebrity chefs like Rachel Ray for individual panels that cultivate an intimate culinary experience for attendees. New celebrity hosts include Tia Mowry, Ayesha Curry and celebrity chef Aarón Sánchez.
Curry shared her passion for food with Grub Street on Tuesday (Oct. 5). The businesswoman recently published her first cookbook The Seasoned Life. Her new show Ayesha’s Homemade will hit the Food Network later this month. There’s no question the mom will feel right at home during the festival. “I’ve always wanted to pen a cookbook,” she said. “I’ve been jotting down ideas and recipes for years — pages everywhere. Scrap papers and chicken scratch. And I fell asleep every night as a little girl watching the Food Network on my little 12-inch TV.”
The event benefits No Kid Hungry and Food Bank For New York City, with all proceeds going to charity. Over the years, the festival has raised over $9.5 million to organizations dedicated to feeding the hungry.
The event kicks off the weekend of Oct. 13-16. Tickets for the NYCWFF events can be purchased online here.
