“I’m focusing on music. That’s my passion,” Pauly said to MTV last year upon announcement of his signing with 50 Cent’s G-Note label. “I’m working with 50 Cent now. I’m gonna do an album with him. It’s going to be a little bit of everything. It’s almost like DJ Khaled and kind of David Guetta, but my own DJ Pauly D style.”
So far, so good, says the “Jersey Shore” star, who’s working on nabbing producers and artists and taking time to make things “great.”
As far has having 50 as a boss: “50’s a beast, man. He’s so smart when it comes to business, and he’s so talented. Him and I just clicked the second we met, so it was great.”
50 Cent seemed excited as well, especially about Pauly’s new reality show, which airs Thursday nights.
“Pauly D’s show is gonna be as — I don’t want to say more exciting than ‘Jersey Shore’ — I’ll say as exciting as ‘Jersey Shore’ to maintain the audience that ‘Jersey Shore’ had by itself,” 50 told MTV News before the show’s premiere. “He has a lot going on right now, and they’ll get a chance to go into his world, as far as his DJing and a lot of things he’s actually doing.”
We’re looking forward to hearing what comes of the collaboration. Until then, catch the “Pauly D Project” Thursday nights at 10:30 on MTV.—Stephanie Long
