In another addition to his lengthy list of accomplishments, Pharrell was honored with the key to the city from his native Virginia Beach. Receiving the award at his alma mater, Princess Anne High School, Pharrell thanked his former teachers for their contributions to his success. Mayor Will Sessoms shared a quote from his acceptance speech on Twitter:
