Pharrell Williams is bringing children’s books into his “Happy” world.
The Virginia native has recently signed a book deal with publisher, Putnam Books to author four new flip-throughs for young bookworms. The first one, aptly titled Happy, will showcase pictures of children all over the globe “celebrating what it means to be happy.” The project will be published on Sept. 22 with a 250,000-copy run, according to Billboard.

“Happy” first debuted in 2013 as a part of the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack. And after releasing the world’s first 24-hour music video for the track, there’s no denying William’s infectiously cheerful record become an ubiquitous staple for the masses. The track even won him two Grammys this year for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Music Video, along with his win for GIRL for the Best Urban Contemporary Album.
After making a cameo in a recent episode of The Simpsons, the hit-producer is tapping even further into his creative side. –– Richy Rosario
