R&B singer Gemaine arrives straight out of Compton with a fresh sound that’s bound to make you stop in your tracks. Joining an impressive roster of new crooners for 2015, the “Freaky” singer returns with another soothing melody titled “Let Me In.”
The smooth cut finds Gemaine vowing for his significant other to let her guard down so that the magic of love can take place. Throughout the 3-minute soundscape, Gemaine’s vocals shine with his tranquil range and relatable lyrics. “Before you start playing hard to get/ Already knew that you were it,” he sings. The production and aura of the song remains true to that timeless feel-good R&B melody, which is a great introduction for Gemaine who was discovered from his covers on Vine.
The young artist is currently finishing up his EP, “Curious,” which is set for release next week. As the first of three projects to drop over the course of 2016, this new EP will feature “Freaky,” “2:33,” and “Let Me In.” Fans can expect to get to know Gemaine on a more intimate level through his forthcoming projects with the content ranging from his heartbreaks to his first love.
“I enjoy making music and I want others to connect and feel the emotion in my music,” he said. “My job is to entertain, I want people to enjoy the record, and love the performance even more.”
