OneRepublic’s soulful summer single “Love Runs Out” has been getting serious airtime on the radio as well as millions of play on YouTube. In late July, the band also released an official remix EP featuring Passion Pit, Disciples and Grabbitz.
Now, Swedish producer and DJ, Marcus Schossow takes a stab at the tune, after the band requested him to remix it. Known for his dynamic melodies, he adds some big room, feel-good piano progressions and effective vocal chops that is guaranteed to set off the main stage of any festival.
Schossow had this to say,“Working on this track was anything but easy, it pushed me to think in a new way. The original version was in a soulful bluegrass version and I wanted to bring that into dance music without making it weird. I re-wrote the whole song, chopped up the vocals to make it work in a dance version. If you listen to the piano, it’s perhaps one of the most well written things I’ve done, I’m very proud of the end result.”
