Everyone who came from the bottom knows exactly what the struggle is like before the glow up, and Baton Rouge’s own Mista Cain is no different. Recently, he linked with Boosie Badazz to reminisce about those crazy times in the video to his new single, “Remember When.”
The gritty, yet stylish visual shows Mista Cain reflecting on the rough stages of his childhood as he transitions from the days of being picked on in school and constantly rejected by girls to becoming a man — and buzzin rapper. Cain and Boosie trade thought provoking bars that are meant to hit home for folks who have been through the same things.
Mista Cain elaborated on the meaning of “Remember When” and on how he collaborated with the Louisiana legend.
“Remember When” is about me transitioning from my struggle from having it hard to my days now,” Mista Cain explains. “I collaborated with Boosie because we came up in the city damn near going through the same things.”
“Remember Me” is a single from Mista Cain’s new mixtape, Tha Verdict, which features other guest appearances from Starlito, Young Dolph, Trouble, Magic, and Chrizz Michaels. The project is available for free streaming on MistaCain.com now.
