Take his new song for instance, “HARDROCKLOVER,” it merges R&B and rock so effortlessly that it makes wonder why there isn’t a musical simply named “Prince” yet.

“Sade and Babyface / R&B ain’t got no place,” he sings. “Put some hard rock on / You better cover your ears ’cause you’re ’bout to hear a woman just scream,” Prince sings on the track. With his band 3rdEyeGirl providing the sounds, the icon makes another splash with his latest jam.
