Ahead of a new album arriving later this year, Prince shared a track titled “Stare” on Spotify earlier Thursday afternoon (July 30).

The funky melody debuted on the streaming service a month after the multi-award winning musician announced that he was pulling his music from the entity, and posting his catalogue to TIDAL.

Hopefully “Stare” is an indication of what fans can expect from Prince’s Hit & Run Album, which his band 3rdEyeGirl said was made with the people in mind. “It’s weird, there’s a lot of experimental sound,” they said. “It’s just hit after hit and definitely caters to those fans who just love to hear what Prince has to say, rather than wanting to always hear that classic Purple Rain Prince sound.”
