It looks like Tidal will receive another musical gem.
Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Prince was planning to release a song in honor of Freddie Gray and the residents of Baltimore, Md. Now, it’s suspected that the multi-instrumentalist will debut the melody exclusively on the streaming service.
According to FOX 9/KMSP-TV reporter Iris Perez — who experienced a recording of “Baltimore” at Minnesota’s Paisley Park’s soundstage — revealed there was a conversation where the musician said he would “talk to Jay Z and his people about streaming it on Tidal.”
Jay Z’s new venture has received multiple exclusives from A-list artists since its inception in March. One of the first premieres came from Beyonce, who revealed a video and unreleased track titled “Die With You” in honor of her wedding anniversary. Jigga also debuted a behind-the-scenes look at his 2012 song “Glory,” and Nicki Minaj dropped a backstage all-access look for The Pinkprint Tour.
