Producer iSHi made noise last year with his boom bap-inspired record “We Run” featuring Raekwon, and French Montana. Now, the Swedish beat maker has enlisted Wale to accompany both New York MC’s as they rejuvenate their ode to the Golden era of New York hip-hop in a new, black-and-white visual production.
“Wu-Tang were a huge inspiration to me growing up and Raekwon’s influence has stuck with me since those days,” iSHi said to The FADER. “I wanted both the song and the visuals to feel like a new classic—familiarity with something a little fresher. The record had to be both real and raw and I think the production paired with French, Wale and Raekwon was the perfect way to do this.”
The video for the Spring Pieces single is formatted with a vintage touch as an homage to television dimensions of the past.
